Wayshowing: Developing Effective Wayshowing for Byways
This report summarizes the America’s Byways Resource Center’s initiative to assist byway providers in their efforts to create effective wayshowing systems. The Resource Center believes that effective wayshowing systems are critical in creating safe, pleasurable, and consistent travel experiences on all of America’s Byways®. This report introduces six core premises to advance effective wayshowing on byways, including: the Byway Guidance System (elements that every byway will need to communicate with travelers), the Wayshowing Body of Knowledge (the ultimate goal of the Resource Center is to create a Wayshowing Body of Knowledge), and others.
