Wayshowing For Byways: A Reference Manual reveals new insights to the process of showing travelers how to experience a route and provides methods for improving the navigational element of the visitor experience.

A culmination of more than two years of research, development and testing, Wayshowing For Byways: A Reference Manual addresses the concerns of a different audience in each chapter.

For example, byways considering nomination for National Scenic Byways designation will benefit most from Chapter 3. State and Tribal Byway Coordinators will appreciate Chapter 6 best. Use the order form below to request a certain chapter or to order the entire manual.

All orders receive Chapter 1, a basic introduction to the manual. Every version also contains a “Read-Me First” document with instructions and a request for completing a Comment Form after you use the materials.
