Marketing Boot Camp For Byways
Building on the energy of the 2011 National Scenic Byways Conference, America’s Byways Resource Center introduced a new training opportunity for a small group of 15 participants who were serious about promoting their byways but lacking important tools.
America’s Byways Resource Center hosted this four-day Marketing Boot Camp in Duluth, Minnesota. It was slated for October 17-20, 2011.
This basic training was designed to help those who work with byways, but have little marketing experience learn to:
- Effectively market their byway
- Raise the level of public awareness of their byway
- Utilize the America’s Byways brand to their advantage
The Resource Center developed the Boot Camp curriculum to ensure that participants would gain an understanding of how branding, public relations, websites and social media benefit marketing efforts and help raise public awareness of byways. The sessions also explained how to develop a plan with specific action steps to enhance marketing efforts.
The Boot Camp required participants to commit to attending a conference call 60 days after the training to report on their progress and receive feedback and additional guidance from the consultants.
Presenters:
Peggy Bendel and Hank Todd of Bendel Communications International.
