All Learning Opportunities

America’s Byways Resource Center uses comments from the byway community to develop the core learning areas of our conferences and workshops. We partner with government agencies, national organizations and leading experts to deliver relevant content for byway organizations.

Peer Advisory Network

America’s Byways Resource Center presents the Peer Advisory Network (PAN) pilot project to provide an intensive assistance tool, similar to the technical assistance provided by Byways Specialists, but with information and mentoring from the standpoint of a day-to-day byway practitioner.

Universal Design For Byways: Preparing For Our Future

Is your byway prepared for visitors of all ages and abilities?

In response to a need raised at the 2009 National Scenic Byways Conference Open Space forum, America’s Byways Resource Center has recognized the importance of universal design for byways. Further, the Resource Center has determined that a key element of sustainable byways is their ability to plan for and provide accessible experiences for people of all abilities. To support this need, the Resource Center hired DSL Design Consulting to develop a universal design curriculum for the byway community.

Past Learning Opportunities

Over the years, the Resource Center has provided timely learning opportunities related to specific topics. Some sessions, such as Grassroots Hospitality and Power Workshops, required on-site trainers to effectively deliver the instruction and no online materials currently exist. Other learning opportunities, such as Tele-Workshops, were summarized in Fact Sheets and the information is available here.
