Duane Lula previously served as the Federal Lands Scenic Byway Coordinator, a liaison between the Federal land management agencies and the Resource Center. Through his previous work for the USDA Forest Service and National Park Service, Duane brings more than 30 years of experience in planning, recreation and natural resource management to his current role as Byways Specialist. 

As a Byways Specialist, Duane’s responsibilities include:

• Serving as a contact for assigned States and byways
• Planning and problem solving with State coordinators and byway organizations
• Developing content for Resource Center events

When not at work or on the nation’s byways, Duane enjoys camping at State and national parks and forests around the Midwest.
