America's Byways Resource Center Recognized For Achievements In Facilitation
America’s Byways Resource Center has been honored as a “2010 ToP Champion” for achievement in facilitation by the Institute of Cultural Affairs National ToP (Technology of Participation) Network. The Technology of Participation (ToP®) teaches team members how to collaborate on projects and group facilitators how to effectively lead their team.
Each year, the ToP Network acknowledges persons and organizations that have produced tangible results and made a measurable difference in their environment through the use of ToP facilitation methods. In particular, the ToP Network honors organizations that reflect:
- Respect for inclusive participation
- Capacity to hear and include differing voices
- Security to step into a world of no predetermined outcome
- Capacity to engage creative process of people explore and create their own preferred future
- Discipline to embrace effective facilitative leadership to build the foundation of true participation
“Our staff is trained in highly effective facilitation processes,” said Michelle Johnson, Director of America’s Byways Resource Center. “We’re thrilled to be able to apply what we’ve learned and pass along the benefits to help byway groups achieve their goals.”
America’s Byways Resource Center staff regularly utilizes a variety of facilitation techniques to deliver technical assistance to byways. Facilitation methods include: Focused Conversation Meeting; Consensus Workshop; Action Planning Process; and Strategic Planning.
