National Networking Call: Give Byways A Voice In The "America's Great Outdoors" Initiative

You are invited to join an informal conference call on Tuesday, August 24 at 1:00 p.m. CDT to discuss how you can help give byways a voice in the President’s “America’s Great Outdoors” initiative. Special guest Derrick Crandall of the American Recreation Coalition will lead a discussion about how this effort will confront the serious challenges our natural resources face today: climate change, air and water pollution, landscape fragmentation and loss of open space.

Americans from across the country are coming together to look for new approaches to protect our national treasures. Laurie Frantz (New Mexico State Byways Coordinator) and Janet Kennedy (byway leader of Lakes to Locks Passage) have already joined the national conversation.

Laurie encouraged, “We hope you will examine America’s Byways® and include them as equal partners with National Parks, National Forests and Grasslands, National Wildlife Refuges and BLM lands in your deliberations.” Read her complete statement at: http://www.bywaysonline.org/forums/viewtopic.do?topic=404.

This is an informal, topic-specific discussion designed as a peer-to-peer networking opportunity. It is not a workshop. Up to 40 lines are available on a first come, first served basis. Phone lines will be open at 12:55 p.m. CDT. To participate in the call on Tuesday, August 24, at 1:00 PM CDT, call 1-877-818-6150 and enter Conference ID: 687321.
