Great Plains Tribal Tourism & Scenic Byways Conference, June 9-12, 2009

The America’s Byways Resource Center, the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association, and the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma invite you attend the Great Plains Tribal Tourism & Scenic Byways Conference, June 9-12, 2009, at the Cherokee Casino and Hotel in Catoosa, Oklahoma. This is the fifth in the series of Our Native Pathways: Byway Opportunities for Indian Tribes meetings.

The conference, funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, will bring together a wide range of tourism and byways related officials for networking, learning and information exchange. Indian tribes will be introduced to the basics of the National Scenic Byways Program, byway program development, byway designation and successful approaches to sustaining a byway.

The meeting is designed for Indian tribes, including Tribal leaders, Tribal policy makers, transportation, economic development and cultural resources staff who are considering a byway program and designation on or near Indian reservations.
