Employment Opportunity at America's Byways Resource Center

The America’s Byways Resource Center has a full-time opening for a Byways Specialist to serve as the primary contact for assigned nationally designated scenic byway organizations, State byway coordinators, partner organizations, and State byway programs. The position involves providing technical assistance, information, contacts and support to further the goals of the National Scenic Byways Program and the goals outlined by local byway groups.
New Architectural Exhibit at National Building Museum
A new multimedia exhibit, “Detour: Architecture and Design along 18 National Tourist Routes in Norway” is on view through May 25, 2009, at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The structural designs featured in the exhibit are intriguing examples of architecture specifically designed to appear harmonious with the surrounding natural environment. They represent the creativity and ingenuity of designers and architects from around the world.

I was presenting at a meeting recently and one of the attendees made a comment about the current state of affairs and how difficult it is to do anything and how people are discouraged. Others mentioned how busy they were and how they didn’t have time to add new tasks to their list.
I disagree.

The 2009 Midwest Land Conservation Conference, “Cultivating Conservation Close to Home” will be held March 12-14 at the Pyle Center, University of Wisconsin, Madison. It will include four days of workshops, seminars and special sessions.
