PBS Airs "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" In Fall 2009

A new six-part documentary series, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea”, will air on PBS in fall 2009. The documentary, directed by Ken Burns and co-produced with Dayton Duncan, is a historical narrative that traces the birth of the national park idea from the mid-1800s and follows its evolution through archival photographs, first-person accounts of historical characters, personal memories and analysis from more than 40 interviews.
