Count Down

Sixteen days. My son Wyatt knows what happens in sixteen days. It’s the big fishing opener in Wisconsin. He has asked me every day for the last two months, “When can we go fishing Mom?” Soon, Wyatt. Soon.

Are you looking forward to a spring and summer filled with fishing and boating? The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, the brains behind the Take Me Fishing campaign and the Anglers Legacy program, have launched a new Take Me Fishing campaign. Here’s what they have to say:

“…the Take Me Fishing campaign is about capturing the excitement and the memories associated with boating and fishing. [It] blends the picturesque beauty of nature, the excitement of the sport and the idea of memories all into a single image. The campaign not only creates awareness, but it will also encourage anglers and boaters to take one more step toward participation in a measurable way, like we’ve never done before…”

Here’s what I have to say:

“Fantastic new site! I love the beautiful images and the great information. Can’t wait to go fishing!”

The newly revised website, www.TakeMeFishing.org, has tons of information and resources, including your State’s fishing licenses and local fishing and boating events (you can post your byway’s fishing events!). Kids (adults too!) can post pictures, learn how to identify fish, get tips on how to catch your favorite fish and play fun fishing games.

Click here to learn more about the campaign, and how you can use Take Me Fishing materials and images to promote your byway’s fishing events and local fishing spots.

This should keep you (and Wyatt) busy until the big day.
