Registrations are now being accepted for the 11th Conference on National Scenic and Historic Trails in Duluth, Minnesota, September 7-11, 2007. This year’s conference, “Healthy Trail Partnerships - Healthy Trail Resources,” will feature presentations and workshops on attitudes, methods and approaches to successfully engage diverse communities and people of all ages in the joyful and healthful activity of sustaining National Scenic and Historic Trails and resources.

The conference is sponsored by the Partnership for the National Trails System in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, American Hiking Society and America’s Byways Resource Center. The North Country Trail Association is the host trail organization for the conference.

Workshops will elaborate on aspects of “Healthy Trail Partnerships - Healthy Trail Resources” in four tracks that will run concurrently September 8-10, including a session called, “Promising Partnerships: Making the Connection between Byways and National Scenic and Historic Trails.” This session will demonstrate how the National Scenic Byways Program supports National Scenic and Historic Trails, and how the America’s Byways Resource Center can help strengthen the connection between byways and National Scenic and Historic Trails. In addition, all-day and half-day field trips are scheduled on September 8 and 10 that will explore the beauty of Duluth and surrounding areas.
