New Tribal Liaison Position at the Resource Center
We are pleased to announce the addition of Scott Sufficool to the America’s Byways Resource Center staff!
Scott was hired in May to fill our newly created Tribal Liaison position. The role of the Tribal Liaison is to provide direct assistance to tribes as they develop byway programs, designate roads, and coordinate with communities along byways. This is the same service we provide to byways and States with our Byways Specialists. Tribal members, staff and others associated with tribes and byways have a contact person at the Resource Center to answer questions and provide direct assistance.
Scott comes to us from the Quinault Indian Nation where he had spent the last several years working for the tribe as a policy advisor on environmental programs and policy. Prior to that, Scott served as a Tribal Liaison and as a State Legislative Liaison for the City of Seattle and as Director of the Region 10 Office of Tribal Operations for the Environmental Protection Agency. Scott has a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Iowa and a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law.
We want to welcome Indian Country into the byways program and into the services and products we deliver. We are excited about the new opportunities we see in working with tribes. Scott can be reached at 218-625-3317 or ssufficool@byways.org. So please give us a call. We’d love to hear from you!
